Transportation and Infrastructure Member-Designated Projects

The House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (T&I) is developing surface transportation authorization legislation that it plans on advancing in the coming months. This legislation will help modernize our infrastructure and build on the efforts of H.R. 2, the Moving Forward Act, which passed the House with my support last Congress. This surface transportation reauthorization will help address our aging roads and transit systems while creating good-paying jobs and stimulating our economy.

Members of Congress will have a unique opportunity to submit regionally significant projects for consideration for the surface transportation reauthorization, which will be funded through the Highway Trust Fund. These projects are separate from the appropriations process and Community Project Funding requests.

Please note that a request by Congresswoman Speier to the Committee does not guarantee that the project will be funded. Further, Members will be required to certify that neither they nor their immediate family have a financial interest in the requests made.
