WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman David N. Cicilline (RI-01) this week joined Representatives Joe Courtney (CT-02) and Chellie Pingree (ME-01) and a coalition of representatives from the New England Congressional Delegations in writing to the U.S. House and Senate Appropriations Committees, urging them to include additional funding for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) in the upcoming government funding package. Because small businesses form the backbone of Rhode Island’s economy, I’m fighting hard to ensure that our small businesses have access to the capital, resources, and assistance they need to succeed and thrive.

Members of Congress are authorized by law to nominate candidates for appointment to four U.S. service academies. These institutions prepare college-age Americans to be officers of the U.S. uniformed services. Each year, Congressman Cicilline may nominate up to ten individuals for each vacant academy slot allotted to Rhode Island’s First Congressional District.
