WASHINGTON – Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) continued her work to advocate for safe and legal abortion care by supporting policies to expand access to this life-saving health care for veterans. In a Committee on Veterans’ Affairs hearing, Underwood emphasized her support for the Department of Veterans Affairs’ (VA) new interim final rule that allows VA to provide abortion counseling and abortion care in cases of incest, rape, or when the health or life of the mother is endangered.
WEST CHICAGO – Today, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) and U.S. Secretary of Labor Martin Walsh led a town hall with northern Illinois labor leaders at the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) union hall in Batavia. Underwood and Secretary Walsh discussed the Biden-Harris administration’s work to bring good-paying jobs to the 14th District, tackle climate change, and protect the rights of workers.
WEST CHICAGO – Congresswoman Lauren Underwood (IL-14) will host an August town hall series in Naperville, Batavia, and DeKalb. These town hall meetings serve as an opportunity for Underwood to share updates on her work in Congress, including legislation she has passed that cuts costs for the 14th District, the $10.5 million she secured in Community Project Funding, and her Health Care Affordability Act, which will lower health care costs for northern Illinois families.
