In his newest report on the protection of civilians in armed conflict, UN Secretary General António Guterres renewed his call to all parties in conflict to comply with international humanitarian and human rights law.
On 21 December 2010, the UN General Assembly passed resolution 65/209 welcoming the adoption of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from Enforced Disappearance and declaring 30 August the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances.
