Arizona's 9th District

Arizona's 9th Congressional District is entirely within Maricopa County. The district includes all of the City of Tempe and parts of Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa and Chandler. Some of the Valley's most exciting neighborhoods are in District 9 including Arcadia, the Biltmore, Sunnyslope, Downtown Mesa, Downtown Chandler and Ahwatukee to name a few.

Arizona State University, one of the nation’s largest public universities, is also located in District 9. ASU’s main campus in Tempe serves more than 50,000 students and is home to the Gammage Memorial Auditorium, designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright. ASU’s SkySong Innovation Center in Scottsdale is also in the district. The 1.2 million square foot campus is a dynamic center for technology and business and is home to more than 50 companies and 2,000 employees. ASU has been ranked the most innovative school in America five years in a row by U.S. News & World Report.

The district is home to a business hub of manufacturing, technology, health care and professional services, as well as a number of small and local business.

Although District 9 is mainly urban, it still offers exceptional outdoor experiences. Camelback Mountain, Tempe Town Lake, and Tempe Butte (better known as "A Mountain") all call District 9 home.

Veterans in the district have access to the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center. And military reserve members are served by the Arizona National Guard Papago Park Military Reserve and the William C. Barnes US Army Reserve Center.
