228396 SENATE DEMOCRATIC MEDIA CENTER SPRING INTERNSHIP -

The Senate Democratic Media Center (SDMC) seeks an intern to join its media production team for the Spring 2023 semester. The internship is based on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

The SDMC creates digital video and graphics content for the Senate Democratic caucus under the leadership of Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Content types include social media and event graphics, live and edited video products, and photography. The intern will help support the graphics team, in addition to other duties including organizing equipment, assisting with operating the TV studio and video production, editing video clips, and maintaining files.

Candidates should have a strong interest in digital media and politics. Prior knowledge of graphics programs (especially Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator) is necessary. The Senate Committee on Finance Office of the Chairman is seeking a law clerk to assist the Committee’s trade team for the spring of 2022. Law clerks routinely assist with legislative research projects, hearings, and other substantive assignments and administrative tasks. Previous law clerks have worked on a variety of trade issues, including digital trade, customs, intellectual property, Trade Adjustment Assistance, and labor and environmental issues related to trade.

Ideal candidates would be graduate or law students with a demonstrated interest in trade policy. We are especially interested in candidates with experience relating to customs and/or digital trade. Although neither a salary nor expenses can be paid, often students are able to receive college credit for participating in the program. This position is set to start January 9th, though this date is subject to change.
