Washington, D.C. - Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Chairman of the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, today released an EPW Committee Majority Staff Report that sets the record straight about the essential contributions that the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and landmark environmental laws have made in protecting public health and promoting economic growth. Senator Boxer was joined by representatives for workers and families to release the report in response to continuing attacks on environmental protections by House Republicans. The House of Representatives is considering legislation this week to weaken EPA's authority to regulate toxic emissions.
