WASHINGTON –U.S. Senators John Boozman and Mark Pryor along with U.S. Congressman Mike Ross (AR-04) today announced the city of Hot Springs will receive a $850,385 grant from the Department of Transportation for improvements to Memorial Field in Hot Springs. The grant will help expand the aircraft parking apron to accommodate the increased aircraft using the airport and will fund the installation of airfield guidance signs enhancing aircraft visual guidance and safety of aircraft movements.

“We must continue to meet the demands placed on our infrastructure. Improvements to the airport are important to accommodate future economic development in and around Hot Springs,” Boozman said.

“A safe, high-quality airport is critical to the economic development of a city,” Pryor said.  “These federal funds will allow the Hot Springs Airport to make important facility and safety improvements that will help them operate safely and efficiently.”

“Our local airports connect communities all across Arkansas to the world and help sustain economic development throughout the region,” said Ross.  “This investment in the Hot Springs airport will help make the necessary infrastructure and safety improvements to keep the airport and the Hot Springs region growing.”
