MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — The Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) announced they will provide Federal assistance to support innovative projects that promote and seek to ensure the growth and resolve the challenges faced by minority business enterprises. 

A total of $14.3 million will be available to fund the financial assistance awards under the announcement utilizing FY 2021 appropriated funds, the Office of Congressman Tom Rice said. 

MBDA is seeking proposals to open and operate an MBDA Business Center to provide technical and business development services to minority business enterprises. The 5-year grant will expand the Agency’s national network to 36 locations in 29 states, including South Carolina.

Eligible applicants include:

• For-profit entities (including but not limited to sole-proprietorships, partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations),
• Non-profit organizations
• Institutions of higher education
• Commercial organizations
• States and local government entities
• Tribal governmental entities
• Quasi-government entities
