Butterfield Receives North Carolina Justice Center Lifetime Champion of Justice Award

WILSON, N.C. – The North Carolina Justice Center named Congressman G. K. Butterfield (NC-01) a recipient of the 2022 Champion of Justice Award for his accomplishments and commitment to individuals, families, and communities.  The award was given at the North Carolina Justice Center’s 25th-anniversary gala on September 18th in Durham.

“It was a true honor to receive the 2022 Champion of Justice Award,” said Congressman Butterfield.  

“The Champion of Justice Award recognizes contributions to the Justice Center’s broad mission of ending poverty in North Carolina and for facilitating specific improvements to the lives of poor and working families in the state.  I am humbled and truly honored to receive this award that recognizes the advocacy and change that I have strived to accomplish while in Congress to make a difference in people's lives.  The Justice Center has been the voice for the voiceless for 25 years, and I respect their continued fight for racial, political, and gender equity in North Carolina.  I am so grateful I was able to serve my community for so long. Thank you to the NC Justice Center for this great honor.”
