The Alan Reinstein Ban Asbestos Now Act of 2019 would ban the production, use and importation of asbestos. Long Branch, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) announced today that the South Plainfield Fire Department has been awarded a $192,473 in federal grants from the Assistance to Firefighters Grants (AFG) program. The grant will enhance South Plainfield’s ability to protect the health and safety of the public, as well as its first-responders, by updating its respiratory equipment. The equipment includes air packs, breathing apparatus, and face protectors.
