PLEASE NOTE 2023 APPLICATION DEADLINES:

Summer I and II Deadline: 5:00 p.m. on Friday, March 3, 2023
Fall Semester Deadline: 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2023
Spring Semester Deadline: 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 3, 2023

In the Washington, D.C. office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students and recent college graduates. Interns gain invaluable work experience and knowledge of Congress and the legislative process. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Interns' responsibilities will vary. They may be asked to answer phones, run errands, research legislation for the Member and legislative staff, attend hearings and briefings, and answer constituent letters on various issues before the House. As a result, interns will learn about the many functions of a congressional office. Constituents will be given priority in consideration of applications.

In the District Office, internships run throughout the fall, spring or summer semesters for college students and recent college graduates. Interns gain invaluable work experience and knowledge of the 8th District and the constituent services process. The hours are flexible to accommodate students' hectic course schedules but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Interns' responsibilities will vary. They may be asked to answer phones, conduct research, attend community events, draft constituent correspondence, or assist with various constituent casework. As a result, interns will learn about the many functions of a District office. Constituents will be given priority in consideration of applications.
