Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, released the schedule for the month of October.   
     
Events that are not closed to the public will be accessible via the Committee’s website, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube page. All Committee events are subject to change at any time due to unforeseen circumstances.  

 

  • October 5 at 1:00 p.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a virtual hearing entitled, “Afghanistan 2001- 2021: Evaluating the Withdrawal and U.S. Policies – Part 2.” 
  • October 6 at 2:00 p.m., ET: The Subcommittee on International Development, International Organizations and Global Corporate Social Impact will convene its members for a virtual hearing entitled “Development Assistance During Conflict: Lessons from Afghanistan.”
  • October 7 at 2:00 p.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a virtual briefing with Ambassador Daniel L. Foote.   
  • October 14 at 1:00 p.m., ET: The Subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa, and Global Counterterrorism will convene its members for a virtual hearing on “Tunisia: Examining the State of Democracy and Next Steps for U.S. Policy.”
  • October 20 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia, and Nonproliferation will convene its members for a virtual hearing entitled, “The Strategic Importance of the Pacific Islands.”   
  • October 21 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on International Development, International Organizations, and Global Corporate Social Impact & Subcommittee on Europe, Energy, the Environment and Cyber will convene their members for a virtual joint hearing entitled, “Preparing for COP26: United States Strategy to Combat Climate Change through International Development.”
  • October 21 at 1:00 p.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a hybrid markup of various measures.
  • October 27 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, and Global Human Rights will convene its members for a hybrid hearing entitled: “Combating Global Human Trafficking.”
  • October 27 at 2:00 p.m., ET: The Committee will convene its members for a hybrid hearing entitled: “The Administration’s FY22 Budget Request for MCC, DFC and Peace Corps.”
