Washington, D.C. – Today, Representative Gregory W. Meeks, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, announced the following schedule for the month of July.

Events that are not closed to the public will be accessible via the Committee’s website and YouTube page. All Committee events are subject to change at any time due to unforeseen circumstances.

  • July 13 at 2:00 p.m., ET: The Committee will convene HFAC members virtually to record votes on the Markup of H.R. 3524, Ensuring American Global Leadership and Engagement (EAGLE) Act. 
         
  • July 14 at 2:00 p.m., ET: The Committee will convene HFAC members for a virtual hearing entitled, “The Biden Administration’s Foreign Assistance Priorities and USAID’s FY22 Budget Request.”  
        
  • July 15 at 12:00 p.m., ET:  The Committee will convene HFAC members virtually to record votes on the Markup of H.R. 3524, Ensuring American Global Leadership and Engagement (EAGLE) Act. 
         
  • July 20 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, Civilian Security, Migration and International Economic Policy will convene for a hybrid hearing entitled, “The Crackdown on Artists and Free Expression in Cuba.” 
       
  • July 20 at 12:00 p.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Europe, Energy, the Environment and Cyber will convene its members for a briefing entitled, “The New Transatlantic Trade Agenda: China, Climate, and COVID-19.” Closed to the public.  
       
  • July 20 at 2:00 p.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia, and Nonproliferation, along with the Subcommittee on Europe, Energy, the Environment and Cyber, will convene their members for a joint virtual hearing entitled, “U.S.-European Cooperation on China and the Broader Indo-Pacific.” 
         
  • July 21 at 10:00 a.m., ET:  The Subcommittee on Middle East, North Africa and Global Counterterrorism will convene its members for a virtual hearing entitled, “People to People: Examining Grassroots Peacebuilding Efforts Between Israelis and Palestinians.” 
     
  • July 27 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, Central Asia and Nonproliferation will convene its members for a briefing entitled, “Scenarios in a Cross-Strait Conflict.” Closed to the public.   
         
  • July 28 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Committee will convene HFAC members for a hybrid markup of various measures. 
         
  • July 29 at 10:00 a.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Middle East, North Africa and Global Counterterrorism will convene its members for a virtual hearing entitled, “Lebanon: Assessing Political Paralysis, Economic Crisis and Challenges for U.S. Policy.” 
         
  • July 29 at 1:00 p.m., ET: The Subcommittee on Europe, Energy, the Environment and Cyber will convene its members for a virtual hearing entitled, “Renewable Energy Transition: A Case Study of How International Collaboration on Offshore Wind Technology Benefits American Workers.”
