Multi-Cultural by Design

The United States Military Academy is a national college that admits a racially, ethnically, and geographically diverse Corps of Cadets so as to reflect the racial and ethnic composition of our enlisted force and our country. We believe a diverse student body results in a superior education for our cadets and in phenomenal leaders for our nation’s enlisted soldiers.

Why Attend West Point?

Acceptance into West Point is an extraordinary honor. West Point offers nationally ranked academic programs in nearly 40 majors and world-renowned leadership and ethics development opportunities. Many graduates pursue a career in military service as commissioned officers in top fields such as engineering, logistics, cyber, and healthcare management.  Others bring their leadership and career skills to the private sector as CEOs, senators, astronauts, and even U.S. presidents.

During our application review process, the Admissions Office considers the strengths, unique cultural and life experiences, and socio-economic backgrounds of our applicants to determine a whole-candidate picture.

Fully Funded Education

At West Point, the only expenditure is the effort you put forth for a lifetime of success. Other than incidental expenses such as a notebook computer, this four-year college experience is a fully funded scholarship for every student.  This includes tuition, room and board, medical and dental care, and an annual salary of over $10,000 to cover the cost of uniforms, books, and supplies.

100% Graduate Employment Rate

After graduation, cadets begin their careers serving five years on active duty as officers in the U.S. Army followed by three years in an active or inactive Army Reserve component. This is a small repayment for the West Point education because that five years in the Army translates to valuable leadership experience that stands out on a resume whether graduates pursue a career in the military or private sector.
