Overnight Tour: In addition to the admission brief you get to spend the night shadowing a cadet to get a real feel for the West Point experience. If you have not yet accepted your offer at the end you will get to sit down one-on-one with an admissions officer and talk about your file. The tour runs from 8:30am until 12:30pm the next day. In order to qualify for an overnight tour you must be a candidate who has been offered admission, has a LOA (Letter of Assurance) or a LOE (Letter of Encouragement). Daily Tour: This tour includes the admission brief and the opportunity to spend the morning shadowing a cadet. The tour runs from 8:30am until 12:30pm the same day. Prospective Candidate Tour: This tour includes an admission brief and tour of the campus. The tour runs from 8:30am until 12:30pm the same day. All students are welcome to join this tour. Visitor Requirements Cadet Candidates with open West Point application DD 3150 uploaded to your candidate portal or emailed to visit@westpoint.edu for each visitor Mask wearing is no longer required in most indoor facilities. Daily Visitors: If unvaccinated, proof of negative COVID test within 72 hours performed by a medical professional. Overnight Visitors: Must be vaccinated. Visitor Passes & Screening All visitors must obtain a background check to receive a visitor pass and enter West Point, (except valid DoD ID card holders) Location: Frederic V. Malek West Point Visitor Center, 2107 New South Post Road, West Point, NY Hours of Operation: 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Pro Tip: Allot an extra hour to complete this screening process. ORIENTATION VISIT SCHEDULE 0730: Visitors screening and pass processing (see above) 0835: Visitors arrive to Building 606 0845-1000: Admissions Information Brief 0940: Candidates are paired with cadets and shadow them until 1230 overnight tour will shadow until the following day at 1230 1000-1040: Parents Brief and Q&A with Deb Dalton 1040-1230: Parents Tour 1230: Candidates and families return to Building 606 1230-1330: Completion of visit and optional meeting with Admissions Officer for further Q&A Restrictions No overnight visits for unvaccinated candidates. No meals in the cadet mess hall for unvaccinated candidates. Visits may be subject to last minute cancellations due to changing health conditions at West Point. Candidates are highly encouraged to be fully vaccinated* prior to visiting West Point. Although we do permit unvaccinated candidates to visit with a negative COVID test, there are currently more opportunities open only to fully vaccinated candidates. *Note: Per CDC guidance, people are considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson's Janssen vaccine.
