Each month, around 106,000 people across the state of Wisconsin use WIC (The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) food benefits. The WIC food program helps families be healthy. It also supports farmers and retailers. Learn more from this National WIC Association fact sheet.
Your role as a WIC-authorized vendor is important because you help WIC families stay healthy. You provide the right type and amount of food during each of their benefit periods.
The State WIC Office Vendor and Integrity Unit is responsible for:
- Processing WIC vendor applications
- Conducting site visits
- Monitoring
- Vendor audits
- Vendor training
- Providing general help to WIC vendors
