LGBTQ Health

The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) community includes people from diverse backgrounds. Community members vary by:

  • Race
  • Ethnicity
  • Age
  • Income
  • Education

For some, sexual orientation or gender identity is central to their self-concept. For others, this may not be the case. However, many LGBTQ people experience discrimination, which leads to poorer health outcomes.
