The America's Outdoors center is a partnership of the the U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, Fish and Wildlife Service and the Natural Resources Conservation Service. It serves the metropolitan Milwaukee area and is dedicated to promoting an ethic of stewardship for the natural world and fostering an appreciation of our natural and cultural resources.

America's Outdoors was created to assist you with your conservation projects and conservation education programs and offers recreation materials to help you plan your next visit to your favorite federal lands.

The main features of this site are outlined below. These features can be accessed at any time using the menu system at the left of your screen.

"" Education: Understanding the environment and the complex relationship among all living things, including people, can ensure a better quality of life for ourselves and future generations. The Center has a variety of programs, and education and reference materials for learning about the natural environment. photo of environmental education
"" Conservation: People everywhere are finding ways to preserve special places. America's Outdoors and the National Park Service Rivers Trails and Conservation Assistance program help communities protect the resources they value without involving federal ownership or management. Local residents decide what they want their project to accomplish, and the National Park Service provides help with technical issues that might otherwise keep a local effort from succeeding.
"" Recreation: America's Outdoors features Wisconsin recreation areas administered by the federal government as well as information for federal lands across the United States. The Center has brochures and maps that describe services at many of these areas so you can better plan your next visit to federal lands. Maps of Forest Service lands in the eastern United States are also available. photo of maps and pamphlets
