COGME Publications Meetings News and Events About COGME Members and Staff Useful Links Site Index The Council on Graduate Medical Education (COGME) provides an ongoing assessment of physician workforce trends, training issues and financing policies, and recommends appropriate federal and private sector efforts on these issues. COGME advises and makes recommendations to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and to the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, and the House of Representatives Committee on Commerce.
  • Section 502 of the Health Care Safety Net Amendments of 2002 extended the Council on Graduate Medical Education's (COGME) termination date from September 30, 2002 to September 30, 2003. The Council's Charter was renewed on November 27, 2002.
