Diego, Calif., was awarded a $7,765,298
firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of one
Combined Hungarian Range Instrumentation and Simulation
Training Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System
(CHRISTMS) for the Government of Hungary under the Foreign
Military Sales Program. Work will be performed in San
Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed in October

BAE Systems, Nashua, N.H., was awarded on Oct.
1, 2004, a $16,042,000 not-to-exceed
contract for procurement of the Cooperative Outboard Logistics
Update (COBLU) Subsystem, which is to be integrated as part of
the Integrated Electronics Suite (IES) for the Italian Navy’s
Multi-Purpose Vessel. The IES is currently composed
of communications and intelligence systems, including Ship
Wide Area Network (SWAN), Communication Intelligence (COMINT),
Data Display and Decision Intelligence (D3I), Communications
Systems (COMMS Subsystems), Small Ship Electronic Warfare
Support Measures System (SSES), Electronics Intelligence
System (ELINT) and related technical support, training and

Beach, Va., was awarded a $55,118,253
cost-plus-fixed fee contract for engineering services in
support of Research and Development
(R&D), Total Ship System Engineering, and Combat System
Engineering (CSE) initiatives in the
introduction of advanced combat system advanced
technology and modernization of current combat systems for

Systems (IDS), Poulsbo, Wash., was
awarded a $32,000,000 fixed-price Performance Based
Logistics (PBL) award fee requirements contract for support
of the AN-SLQ-48 (Mine Neutralization) and AN/SQQ-32
(Minehunting Sonar) Weapon Systems. Work will be performed
at Norfolk, Va. (98 percent), and Portsmouth, Rhode Island
(2 percent), and is expected to be completed by October

Agreement (N00383-03-G-038B) for newly manufactured F/A 18
combined interrogator transponder (CIT) components for the Foreign

awarded a $5,759,568 option under previously
awarded contract (N00178-02-C-2001) for continuing technical
and administrative support for Surface
Combat System Configuration Management for surface combatant
ships. This contract option will procure continued technical
and administrative support for surface
ship combat system configuration management support
for surface combatants such as Aegis cruisers and
destroyers, amphibious ships, aircraft
carriers and the next-generation destroyer (DD(X)). [more]

Oklahoma City, Okla., was awarded a $23,973,156
time and material and firm fixed price contract modification
to provide for contractor logistics support umbrella
engineering support services; sustains and non-recur
services to support research and development, aircraft
modifications, aircraft maintenance and technical services
for Boeing commercial derivative military
use aircraft. This effort supports foreign
military sales to the Royal Netherlands Air Force.

contract modification. This action will exercise an option
of 11 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles (AMRAAM) Air
Intercept Missile (AIM)-120 5 (FMS) missiles, 6 AMRAAM Air
Vehicles Instrumented (AAVIs), 10 non- development
item-airborne instrumentation unit field kits, 6
non-developmental item airborne instrumentation
unit original equipment manufacture kits, and 1 lot software
configuration management. This effort
supports foreign
military sales to Australia.

Swiftships Shipbuilders, LLC, Morgan City La., was awarded a
$31,844,437 firm-fixed-price for the
construction of six 25m fast patrol craft (FPC),
with technical data and training, for the Arab Republic of
Egypt under the Foreign
Military Sales Program. The FPC will be constructed
of aluminum and conform to American Bureau of Shipping High
Speed Naval Craft requirements. The primary
mission of the FPC is to perform Egyptian border guard
operations within Egyptian territorial waters and includes
search and rescue, law enforcement, and local patrol

Tomorrow’s Coalitions Today" On October 14th
and 15th the Defense Security Cooperation
Agency (DSCA) will explore how Security Cooperation programs
foster enduring relationships with our allies and other
friendly countries during its annual conference with the theme
"Supporting Tomorrow’s Coalitions Today." The
event, hosted by Lieutenant General Jeffrey B. Kohler,
Director of DSCA, will take place on October 14th
and 15th
at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Alexandria,

Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) began a joint effort
to enhance DoD’s worldwide monitoring and inventory
control of arms transfers to foreign governments.

DSCA Retires From Active Duty Defense Department Supports Wheelchair Donations in Iraq WASHINGTON, Feb. 19, 2004 -- Several hundred Iraqis have new-found mobility, thanks to a public-private partnership that provides wheelchairs to victims of war, disability and disease. An Iraqi child revels in his new wheelchair, donated through a public-private partnership.
