Welcome to DOI Aviation Management In October 2001, the Office of Aircraft Services (OAS) was realigned under the Department of the Interior, National Business Center as the Aviation Management Directorate (AM). AM, headquartered in Boise, Idaho was established by Secretarial Order in 1973 "...to raise the safety standards, increase the efficiency, and promote the economical operation of aircraft activities in the Department of the Interior." AM is responsible for Interior's aviation safety program.  Through this leadership, AM provides centralized technical and administrative services to all Interior organizations and, through individual agreements, to other federal and state entities.
