Special Notices:
The Employer Costs for Employee Compensation (ECEC) switched to new industry and occupation classification systems with the release of the March 2004 data. The 2002 North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is now used to classify industries and the 2000 Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) system is used to classify occupations. Documents have been prepared to help users during the transition. Highlights about the changes to NAICS and SOC provides a short summary about the new industry and occupational series that are published. For more detailed information, Questions and Answers are provided on the transition. Finally, for users interested in the detailed series published in the ECEC and their comparability with previous series, see the ECEC Changes to NAICS and SOC and the article "Comparing Current and Former Industry and Occupation ECEC Series" from the e-journal Compensation and Working Conditions Online.
