All Liberians, to secure the gains of 2003, must begin to work harder and compromise in 2004 to give birth in 2005 to a new democratic Liberia with new institutions. The international community is actively assisting Liberia’s transition to a democratically elected government based on democratic principles. U. S. PROVIDES $10 MILLION DOLLARS OF ASSISTANCE TO LIBERIAN POLICE AND JUDICIARY
The United States Government provides $10 Million dollars of assistance to the National Transition Government of Liberia (NTGL) to help rebuild and support the Liberia National Police, and to reform the judiciary. Most of these funds, nine million, will be for the police service, while the balance of one million dollars will benefit the judiciary.(complete text)
