U.S. Ambassador Thomas C. Krajeski visited the Governorates of Aden and Ta’iz last week where he met with businessmen, female NGO representatives, academics, military cooperation officials and community leaders. He also met with the Governor of Aden, Dr. Yehya al-Shu’iabi, and the Governor of Ta’iz, Mr. Ahmad Abdullah Al-Hajri. Ambassador Krajeski was briefed by the Governor of Aden on the Governorate’s plans to develop the Port of Aden. They also exchanged views on how the Aden Port can play a key role in boosting the economic future of Yemen. Ambassador Krajeski’s meeting with the Governor of Ta’iz was attended by governorate officials, local council members, and businessmen. They discussed the various needs of the Governorate of Ta’iz and how the U.S. government can contribute to the development of the area. (more)

First American Corner Opens at Sana’a Public Library U.S. Ambassador to Yemen, Thomas Krajeski, officially opened the first of two approved American Corners in Yemen at the Sana’a Public Library (Dar Al Kutob) on Wednesday, September 15, 2004. In attendance at the ceremony were the Yemeni Deputy Minister of Culture, Hisham Ali, and the Director of the Sana’a Public Library, Zaid Al-Fakih.
