The 2nd Annual Capturing the Vision of Wellness Conference

Dates: 10/01/04 -

Location:
St. Vincent Healthcare's Mansfield Health Education Center
Billings, MT

Summary:
The conference will focus on enhancing the lives of American Indian women through promotion of wellness and good health. 39.6 million women in the United States are members of racial and ethnic minority groups. Although these women experience many of the same health problems as Caucasian women, as a group they are in poorer health, they use fewer heatlh services, and they continue to suffer disproportionately from premature death, disease, and disabilities. Many face tremendous social, economic, cultrural, and other barriers to achieving optimal health. The Capturing the Vision of Wellness Conference was developed to address these issues. This conference targets Montana Indian women, medical providers, reservation service units and community health providers.
