The U.S. Embassy in Bucharest, Romania is seeking a Motor Pool Supervisor.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITIONS

The incumbent establishes work plans; coordinates vehicle usage, maintenance, and repairs; and directs overall activities of the motor pool including vehicles, chauffeurs, and mechanic(s) in order to assure that the highest level of transportation services is provided to the Embassy. Maintains and prepares all vehicle reports and records in accordance with post policy and United States Government regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Completion of secondary school is required;
  • Experience as a dispatcher is required;
  • Level III (good) English is required; fluent Romanian is required;
  • Knowledge of vehicle operations, mechanical and body repairs, driver safety practices, and vehicle maintenance methods, practices, and procedures is required;
  • Knowledge of Romanian laws concerning driver's licenses and vehicle restrictions;
  • Good organizational and management skills, as well as written and oral communication skills are required.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITIONS

Operates motor vehicles in accordance with instructions from the Motor Pool Supervisor and the Detachment Commander transporting MSG personnel and/or official visitors within the city or out-of-town. Operates vehicle to deliver materials and equipment. Maintains assigned vehicle in clean and serviceable condition and performs minor maintenance of a preventive nature, advising supervisor of problems which require more technical maintenance or repair. Maintains daily vehicle records for assigned vehicle and submits receipts for reimbursement from maintenance when official travels outside of town. Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Must be skilled in minor maintenance and diagnostics.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITIONS

Under the supervision of the Information Officer, the incumbent is responsible for creating, planning, editing, maintaining and writing for the Mission's principal electronic publishing product, the Internet Homepage. As the principal assistant to the Public Affairs Officer on the Distribution Record System, the incumbent is responsible for maintaining the central records of Public Diplomacy, including technical analysis of reporting and contact information.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

  • Must have: ability to design, layout, and illustrate a homepage; ability to analyze electronic and print materials and automate their conversion into HTML; ability to write short summaries and news stories, and to edit such materials; ability to maintain accurate records, to perform hardware setups and operational adjustments; ability to provide training to computer/software users; analytical skills, good communication and service-oriented skills.
