Consul General

Jeffrey A. Moon has served as Consul General in Chengdu, China since September 2003.

He served previously in Washington, D.C. in the State Department's Executive Secretariat and in the Bureaus of East Asia and Pacific Affairs, Economic Affairs, and International Information Programs. He has also completed overseas assignments in Beijing, China; Chiang Mai, Thailand; and Guatemala City, Guatemala.

Before joining the State Department, Mr. Moon was a litigation attorney in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of the Johns Hopkins University (B.A. History; Phi Beta Kappa), the University of Maryland (M.S. Information Technology), and Columbia University School of Law (J.D.). His foreign languages include Chinese, Thai, Spanish and French.
