February 23 (Monday)* Moslem New Year Local
April 11 (Sunday) Easter Day (Catholic & Orthodox) Local
May 6 (Thursday) Martyr's Day Local
May 30 (Sunday) Memorial Day American
July 4 (Sunday) Independence Day American
September 5 (Sunday) Labor Day American
October 10 (Sunday) Columbus Day American
November 11 (Thursday) Veterans Day American
November 15 - 17 (Monday - Wednesday)* Al-Fitr Holiday (End of Ramadan) Local
November 25 (Thursday) Thanksgiving Day American
December 26 (Sunday) Christmas Day American/ Local


    Notes:

    1) Whenever an U.S. holiday falls on Friday or Saturday, the preceding Thursday or the following Sunday respectively shall be considered the holiday.
    2) SAR Holidays shall be verified with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before occurrence. An Admin Notice confirming each holiday will be issued. Syrian holidays will be observed by the Embassy only on the day they are observed by the Syrian government.

    * Based on Lunar Calendar. Exact date will be confirmed by the religious authorities on a later date and may be subject to change.
