The Carter Center is a nonprofit, nonpartisan public policy institute founded by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn. The Center for Security Studies and Conflict Research, based at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich, is an independent academic institution researching and teaching in the fields of security policy and conflict analysis.

The Democratic Leadership Council' seeks to reshape American politics by moving beyond the old left-right political debate and to help to rebuild a new Democratic majority ready for the challenges of the information age.

East-West Center (http://www.ewc.hawaii.edu/). The East-West Center is a public, non-profit education and research institution. It works to promote better relations and understanding between the United States and the nations and peoples of Asia and the Pacific through cooperative study, training and research.

Economic Policy Institute (http://epinet.org/). The Economic Policy Institute is a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank that seeks to broaden the public debate about strategies to achieve a prosperous and fair economy.

Its purpose is to generate viable, effective public policy responses to important economic problems both within the United States and abroad.

The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan institution that conducts advanced research utilizing the world's premier specialists on Asia and Russia. It also serves as the international clearinghouse on expertise and important policy issues concerning the region.

National Research Council (http://www.nas.edu/). The National Research Council was organized by the National Academy of Sciences to associate the broad community of science and technology with the Academy's purposes of further knowledge and advising the federal government.

RAND (http://www.rand.org/). RAND is a nonprofit institution that helps improve public policy through research and analysis. Its mission is to help policy makers, strengthen the nation's economy, maintain its security, and improve its quality of life by helping them make choices in education, health care, national defense, and criminal and civil justice, among many other areas.

Stanford Center for International Security and Arms Control (http://www-leland.stanford.edu/group/CISAC/). The Center for International Security and Arms Control is a multi disciplinary community dedicated to research and training in issues of international security. The Center is part of Stanford University's Institute for International Studies.

The Strategic Studies Institute (http://carlisle-www.army.mil/usassi/welcome.html). The Strategic Studies Institute (SSI) is the primary research faculty of the U.S. Army War College.
