U.S. Consulate and The City of Podgorica Renew Support for “The American Corner”

On Wednesday, September 29th, at the Cultural-Information Center “Budo Tomovic” in Podgorica, the U.S. Consulate, represented by Principal Officer Hoyt Yee, and the Municipality of Podgorica, represented by Mayor Miomir Mugosa and “Budo Tomovic's” Director Branko Baletic, will sign a Memorandum of Understanding agreeing to continue the activities of the “The American Corner” within the “Budo Tomovic” Center.

“The American Corner” provides information to the public about the United States, U.S. assistance, U.S relations with Serbia and Montenegro, and other related subjects. In addition to being open to the public for reading and research, “the American Corner” in Podgorica hosts several events each month, such as cultural programs and guest lectures. Since it was established in November 2003, “the American Corner” has added 210 members, and now has a collection of over 1,300 books, two Internet-capable computers, magazines, and other materials.

Press interested in covering the ceremony should be at “The American Corner” no later than 15:10 p.m. on Wednesday, September 29th.

AMERIČKI KONZULAT I OPŠTINA PODGORICA NASTAVLJAJU PODRŠKU “AMERIČKOM UGLU”

U srijedu, 29. septembra, u Kulturno-informativnom centru “Budo Tomović” u Podgorici, šef Američkog konzulata Hojt Ji, gradonačelnik Podgorice Miomir Mugoša i direktor KIC “Budo Tomović” Branko Baletić potpisaće sporazum o nastavku saradnje na projektu “Američki ugao” u KIC “Budo Tomović”.

“Američki ugao” obezbjeđuje informacije javnosti o Sjedinjenim Državama, američkim programima pomoći, odnosima SAD i Srbije i Crne Gore i drugim srodnim pitanjima. Osim toga što je otvoren za javnost za čitanje i istraživanje, “Američki ugao” u Podgorici domaćin je svakog mjeseca više programa iz oblasti kulture i predavanja. “Američki ugao” je osnovan u novembru 2003, ima 210 stalnih članova i kolekciju od preko 1.300 knjiga, dva kompjutera povezana na internet, časopise i druge materijale.

Mediji zainteresovani za praćenje svečanosti treba da budu u “Američkom uglu” najkasnije u 15:10 sati u srijedu, 29. septembra.
