The Honorable Doug Bereuter (R-NE) resigned from the House of Representatives effective close of business August 31, 2004.



North Carolina, 1st

The Honorable Frank W. Ballance, Jr. (D-NC) resigned from the House of Representatives effective close of business June 11, 2004.

The Honorable G.K. Butterfield (D) was elected July 20, 2004 in special election. Representative-elect Butterfield was added to the rolls of the House upon executing the oath of office on July 21, 2004.



South Dakota, At-Large

The Honorable William J. Janklow (R-SD) resigned from the House of Representatives effective close of business January 20, 2004.

The Honorable Stephanie Herseth (D) was elected June 1, 2004 in special election. Representative-elect Herseth was added to the rolls of the House upon executing the oath of office on June 3, 2004.
