**CONTRACTS UPDATE**
********************
To date the caBIG Contracts Staff has fully executed contracts basic
agreements with 39 Cancer Centers and has verbal commitments from 4
additional Centers to sign in the coming days. The caBIG Contracts Staff has
issued several task orders against the signed contracts with several more in
the pipeline. Initial funding of the represented projects begins immediately
as monthly reports and deliverables are received and invoiced. As always
the caBIG Project Team is encouraging all of the Cancer Centers to finalize
their contracts basic agreement so the work of caBIG can continue to move
forward without delay.

If you have any questions or concerns we urge you to contact the General
Contractor as soon as possible to ensure the signing of your contract is not
delayed. Please direct any comments to the General Contractor directly

* PREVIEW THE NEW caBIG WEB SITE - NCICB and the caBIG Project Team are
excited to announce the upcoming release of the new caBIG Web site on
October 14, 2004. Though the web address to the new Web site will ultimately
be the same as the current Web site, if you'd like to catch a glimpse of the
new Web site now, please visit http://caBIG2.nci.nih.gov. We are committed
to an ongoing effort to keep the new Web site fresh, interesting, and
informative. Comments and feedback are welcome and encouraged. To provide
feedback, please send email to caBIG_website@bah.com.

* caDSR TRAINING - caDSR training will be held on October 12 and 15
beginning at 1:00 p.m. EDT. The training will be two, 3 hour Centra
sessions. The first day of training will provide the big picture, how it
all fits together (roughly 60-70% of the 3 hour time). Toward the end of
Day 1, more specific, how-to training will begin and a homework exercise
will be given. Day 2 will review the exercise and have more specific
curation training. This first session (Oct
12 and 15) although open to all, will focus on form-based cde curation. To
