The United States Mission in Bolivia

The U.S. Embassy in La Paz is one of the largest and most important Missions in the hemisphere. The Mission exists to conduct diplomatic relations and strengthen the understanding and cooperation between the two nations, through economic and cultural activities.

The U.S. government works in close cooperation with the government of Bolivia to reach common goals.  Some of the most important areas of bi-lateral assistance are:  the strengthening of  Bolivian democracy,  economic prosperity, expanding U.S. exports and investments, improved family health conditions, counternarcotics efforts, and promoting alternative development in coca-producing regions as well as environmental protection.

The U.S. embassy seeks to promote a better understanding of the U.S., its society, government and politics, through cultural programs and information that reach all Bolivian society.
