United States Mint 50 State Quarters Silver Proof Set™ Joins List of Products Available for Online Subscription Program

WASHINGTON - United States Mint Director Henrietta Holsman Fore today announced that the United States Mint will once again offer collectors a five-coin set featuring the 2005-dated commemorative quarter-dollar coins in lustrous coin silver (90 percent silver). This year, the set will be available to customers through the United States Mint’s Online Subscription Program, which simplifies the ordering process of the product when it becomes available for sale.

"Last year, collectors suggested that we create this proof set,” said Director Fore. “Once again, we expect demand for this captivating product to be strong and indicative of the enthusiasm for the United States Mint 50 State Quarters® Program, as well as the world-class craftsmanship of these exquisite silver coins."

The Online Subscription Program is a free service, offering customers the chance to receive annual sets, year after year for the life of the program, or until cancellation by subscriber. Adding the United States Mint 50 State Quarters Silver Proof Set to this program allows admirers of this new product to automatically receive each year’s set as it is released. Sets available for sale prior to registration are not included with the subscription.

By signing up now, customers will receive the 2005 United States Mint 50 State Quarters Silver Proof Set when it becomes available. As part of our customer service, the United States Mint will automatically remind subscribers approximately 30 days before the release of the product with an e-mail notification, informing them that their credit card will be charged. This product’s release is tentatively scheduled for early 2005.

Priced at $23.95, the United States Mint 50 State Quarters Silver Proof Set will include all five new quarters to be issued in 2005 in the 50 State Quarters Program: California (John Muir and Yosemite Valley), Minnesota (Land of 10,000 Lakes), Oregon (Crater Lake), Kansas (Buffalo and Sunflower) and West Virginia (New River Gorge).

Because demand for the United States Mint 50 State Quarters Silver Proof Set is expected to be high, the United States Mint reserves the right to limit quantities and may discontinue accepting orders at any time.
