Two SAM Defense Officials to Participate in Marshall Center Program

As part of the United States Government's ongoing support for democratic reforms in Serbia and Montenegro, including in the military and defense sectors, the Embassy of the United States in Belgrade is sponsoring the participation of two officers from the Armed Forces of Serbia and Montenegro in an Executive Program at the George C. Marshall Center in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany from August 27 through December 10, 2004. The Marshall Center is jointly staffed and funded by the United States and Germany.

Officers from the Section for International Organizations at the Ministry of Defense's Department for International Military Cooperation and from the 243rd Mechanized Brigade will be attending the program.

The Executive Program in International and Security Affairs is a 15-week program designed for colonels, lieutenant colonels and their civilian equivalents. The program covers a wide range of international and national security topics, emphasizing cooperative approaches to strategy formulation. The program offers an intensive analysis of the challenges, threats and opportunities confronting Europe, Eurasia and the wider world.

Dva zvaničnika Ministarstva odbrane i vojske SCG učestvuju u programu Maršal centra

Ambasada Sjedinjenih Država u Beogradu, u okviru podrške vlade SAD demokratskim reformama u SCG, uključujući vojne reforme, organizuje učešće dva pripadnika oružanih snaga SCG na kursu za donosioce odluka (Executive Program) u Džordž C. Maršal centru u Garmišpartenkirhenu, Nemačka, od 27. avgusta do 10. decembra 2004. godine. SAD i Nemačka zajednički obezbeđuju osoblje i finansiranje u Maršal centru.

Pripadnici Odeljenja za međunarodne organizacije Uprave za medjunarodnu vojnu saradnju Ministarstva odbrane SCG i 243. mehanizovane brigade učestvovaće u programu.

Kurs za donosioce odluka iz međunarodnih i bezbednosnih odnosa je petnaestonedeljni program za pukovnike, potpukovnike i za civilno osoblje na odgovarajućim pozicijama. Program obuhvata široki spektar tema iz oblasti međunarodne i nacionalne bezbednosti, naglašavajući zajedničke strateške pristupe. Program nudi intenzivnu analizu izazova, pretnji i mogućnosti sa kojim se suočavaju Evropa, Evroazija i čitav svet.
