The Presidential Awards for Leadership in Federal Energy Management honor Federal employees for their support, leadership, and efforts in promoting and improving Federal energy management. The awards program is required by Executive Order 13123 (PDF 103 KB, 12 pp). Download Acrobat Reader.
Awards recognize outstanding achievements in the following areas:
- Conservation and efficient use of energy and water
- New and emerging energy technologies
- Innovative strategies, best practices, and applications
- Renewable energy sources
- Alternative financing

2004 Award Winners
Winners of the 2004 Presidential Awards have been selected and will receive their awards on Thursday, July 15, in Washington, DC. Evaluators selected the winners using criteria (PDF 40 KB, 5 pp) that covered four basic areas: implementation, institutionalization, outreach, and results. Download Acrobat Reader.
Event Information
The Presidential Awards for Leadership in Federal Energy Management is scheduled for Thursday, July 15, 2004 as part of a combined ceremony with the Office of the Federal Environmental Executive's Closing the Circle Awards. The ceremony location has been changed. The event will now take place at the Benjamin Franklin Room at the U.S. Department of State, 2201 C Street, NW, Washington, DC from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM, with a reception immediately to follow. Attendance at this event is by invitation only.
