The mission of the Consumer Advisory Committee is to make recommendations to the Federal Communications Commission regarding consumer issues within the jurisdiction of the Commission and to facilitate the participation of consumers (including people with disabilities and underserved populations, such as Native Americans and persons living in rural areas) in proceedings before the Commission.

* On November 8, 2002, the Consumer/Disability Telecommunications Advisory Committee (CDTAC) of the Federal Communications Commission held its final meeting of its first two year term. With its new Charter, which became effective in November 2002, the Committee's name was changed to the Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC) to more accurately reflect the scope of its mandate and activities. The CAC charter is effective until November 20, 2004. This archive contains documents relating to six meetings of the CDTAC from March 26, 2001 through November 8, 2002.
