How to Play our A/V Files

In order to listen to audio or view video from this site, you must have a computer with a sound board, speakers, and an internet connection. You must also have RealPlayer-compatible software installed on your computer and configured to work with your browser. You can download the free RealPlayer and get additional information on that program from RealNetworks.

The link that will allow you to access the live A/V stream will not be activated until 5 minutes prior to the meeting’s scheduled start time. To display the link for the live A/V stream, you must update the page at the meeting’s scheduled start time by clicking on your browser's reload/refresh button. When the live A/V link is enabled (clickable), click on the link to connect your media player to the live media stream. Any time an Internet user connects or reconnects during the broadcast, they will join the meeting in progress. All live broadcasts are recorded and are available for future playback through links in the A/V Archives box in the left-hand column of this page.

The FCC uses RealNetworks’ RealMedia technology to convert audio/video signals into a computer file that is encoded so that it can be efficiently transmitted over the Internet, decoded, and played on the user’s computer in real time. This streaming technology allows the user to hear and see the clip almost immediately without having to wait for the entire file to download. The processing, transmission, and storage of the media files takes place on a computer server that the FCC has set up for that purpose. This server is currently configured to support up to 200 simultaneous Internet users. Your RealPlayer will display a message indicating that the capacity has been reached whenever you attempt access to the stream while there are already 200 or more other users playing the file.
