NTIA is undertaking its ninth survey of minority commercial broadcast owners to learn about their experiences entering the industry or expanding operations. Therefore, we will be contacting minority broadcast owners to request that they complete the survey at their earliest convenience.  The information they provide will assist us as we prepare a report on minority commercial broadcast ownership and a listing of minority broadcasters. The report will present questionnaire results in the aggregate or anecdotally without attribution to individual respondents. Policymakers, industry members, and advertisers have used our minority broadcast ownership reports for a variety of purposes since 1990, when the agency issued its first report.

The voluntary multiple-choice questionnaire covers the period from July 1, 2001 through June 30, 2002 and requests information that broadcast owners maintain in the ordinary course of business. It seeks information from commercial broadcast firms in which racial or ethnic minorities' ownership interests exceed 50 percent. Owners may download the survey and return the completed questionnaire by fax to (202) 482-8058.
