The Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), through the Buildings Technologies Program, works closely with the building industry and manufacturers to conduct research and development on technologies and practices for energy efficient houses and multi-family buildings. Moreover, EERE’s consumer information service provides fact sheets that can directly answer home energy efficiency questions.
