BLM Sage-Grouse Habitat Conservation ProgramThe multiple-use mission of the Bureau of Land Management is to sustain the health and productivity of the public lands for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations. The Bureau accomplishes this by conserving natural, historical, cultural and other resources on the public lands while managing such activities as outdoor recreation, livestock grazing, mineral development, energy production, and various other uses. One of the most important current programs is the management and conservation of sagebrush landscapes and sage-grouse habitat in 11 Western states. The BLM believes this is a project that requires everyone to work together to find not just one solution, but many solutions, to achieve success.
