Computer experts warn that hackers can exploit unsecured home computers to launch cyber attacks and compromise computers files.  These computer security tips will help you to combat hackers and prevent worms and viruses.

 Protect Your Computer From Spyware
Spyware programs install themselves onto users' computers and display unwanted ads, change browsers' default home pages, add programs to the system tray and, in some cases, collect personal information. Recent surveys submitted to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) showed that 75 percent of computer users were not aware that this software had been installed on their machine. Here are some ways to combat sypware.

 Online Consumer Safety
The Internet allows access to information, services and products from around the world. We can do routine shopping, make travel arrangements, manage our finances, and conduct business all online. And yet, while the Internet facilitates increased communication and helps make our lives more convenient, it also makes us vulnerable to identity theft, computer hackers and viruses.

In everyday transactions, you may share your bank and credit card account numbers, Social Security number, name and adress information, and even your income.  Identity theft occurs when someone uses a piece of your sensitive information without your knowledge to commit fraud or theft.
