One year ago, America and our coalition partners gave Saddam Hussein a final chance to demonstrate that he was not a threat to the world community. He refused, and was toppled from power by force.
The Hussein regime tortured children in front of their parents, used chemical weapons against whole villages, waged war with neighboring countries, harbored terrorists and forced millions of people to live in fear, isolation and desperation.
Today, Hussein is locked in a prison cell. His brutal supporters are in prison, and in cemeteries. The 24 million people of Iraq have been liberated.
The global terrorist network and their allies, their financers, and, most importantly, their state sponsors, can look to Iraq as an example of American resolve.
