Definition:
Acid deposition takes two forms: wet and dry deposition. Wet acid deposition occurs when sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides react in the atmosphere with water vapor. Dry deposition occurs when sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides react, but not with water. It settles out of the atmosphere as particles or gases. [link]
