SANS On-line Training Courses, Certification, and Conferences

CONTRACT COVERAGE NOAA and the SANS (SysAdmin, Audit, Network, Security) Institute have finalized a training pricing agreement. This agreement is available to all NOAA Line and Staff Offices and offers deep discounts for SANS on-line courses, certification, and conferences. This agreement extends from June 30, 2003 through June 30, 2005.

GETTING ACCESS TO THE TRAINING CLASSES The SANS e-learning software is specialized courseware for System Administrators, Network Administrators, Information Technology Security Officers, and Information Security System Officers. The agreement does not entitle you to purchase courseware product licenses from SANS. You are simply paying a registration fee to take the course on-line. The following on-line courses, plus certification, are available at a cost of $700 per course: 1.Security Essentials 2.SANS Firewalls, Perimeter Protection and Virtual Private Networks 3.SANS Intrusion Detection in Depth 4.SANS Hacker Techniques, Exploits and Incident Handling 5.SANS Securing Windows 6.SANS Securing Unix The agreement also includes any other on-line course developed by SANS during the period of the agreement. The agreement also includes any SANS conference at a discount of 20% per single enrollment.

GETTING MORE INFORMATION You will need a Registration Code to enroll in these on-line courses at the Department of Commerce discounted pricing. Your Line Office Information Technology Security Officer (ITSO) will be able to provide you with our DOC Registration Code. Be sure to provide this code when you enroll for a course using your Government purchase card.
