Meet The National Map Corps

The National Map Corps consists of private citizens who devote some of their time to provide mapping information to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Members may be invited to participate in projects within mutually determined work areas. The only requirements needed to contribute to this effort include owning a GPS receiver and having Internet access.

• The National Map is a consistent framework for geographic knowledge needed by the Nation. It provides public access to high-quality, geospatial data and information from multiple partners to help support decisionmaking by resource managers and the public.
