 Program Title &  Summary:

“SAFETY CONNECTION” AND “VIRGINIA BEACH (VB) FRONTLINE FIREFIGHTER”

 

- These two 30-minute programs from October 2002 were provided to us by our long-time partners, the Virginia Beach Fire Department.

“Safety Connection” focuses on how to help you and your family to live safer, and this particular program contains the following segments:
- How to be safe when refueling gas cans;
- Gun safety in the home;
- A Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation EMS Rescue;
- Child Safety Seat Laws; and,
- The dangers of lighters and matches for pre-schoolers.

“Frontline” focuses on firefighter training and this particular segment contains the following:
- Setting-up collapsible tanks and tanker operation for rural water supply;
- Back to basic ladder training for ground ladders;
- Chain Saw Safety; and,
- Virginia Beach Fire Department’s 2002 Firefighter of the year.

CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL HEALTH CARE NEEDS – PART I

 

-This two-part series was provided to us by our partners at EMSAT (EMS Satellite Training) and is produced by the Division of Educational Development, Office of Emergency Medical Services, Virginia Department of Health.

This program contains two scenarios involving the emergency management of ill and injured special needs children. It also discusses the correct management of a child on a home apnea monitor.

The second part of this series will air on November 3, 2004.
