The
Noble Training Center is operated by the Department of Homeland
Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency. Noble Training
Center is unique in that it is the only hospital facility
in the U.S. devoted to medical training for hospital and healthcare
professionals in disaster preparedness and response.
Mission
Statement
The Noble Training Center will create,
train, and evaluate the national medical team response
to acts of terrorism and both natural and technological
disasters.

Purpose
Now operated by the U.S. DHS
the Noble Training Center occupies the former Noble Army Hospital
at Ft. McClellan, AL. The hospital environment is used to
train the following healthcare professions:
- Physicians
- Nurses and Nurse Executives
- Hospital Executives
- Hospital Engineers
- EMS Administrators
- Public Health Leaders
- Others: PHS Officers, Pharmacists,
etc. Additional training to help integrate the hospital
and public health response into the overall community disaster
response is also conducted at Noble.

Noble Training Center
has undergone several renovations and additions to
bring the structure to its current size of 162,000
square feet on 20 acres of land with heliport. There
are realistic hospital settings within the facility
such as the Emergency Department and decontamination
lanes.

The Hospital
is used as a mock hospital training facility.
Department
of Homeland Security assumed operational control of
the facility in 2003.

Available
for applied research and beta testing such as the prototype
mass casualty ambulatory and non-ambulatory decontamination
lanes.
