Report collection available again
Unclassified technical reports in the Research Library's report collection are again available, after a temporary hold on access. While most LANL reports and many other reports are available electronically, over 1.5 million reports in paper or microfiche are housed in the report collection. See the Library's Reports page and the revised How to obtain reports for more information.

The Research Library has negotiated a license agreement for LANL site-wide access to the electronic version of ANSI Z136.1, Safe Use of Lasers. The document is available for Laboratory employees from a Library web page at http://rlcd.lanl.gov/ansi/z136.1/.
ANSI Z136.1 is the basis for LIR 402-400-01.3, provides laser safety information and is designed to assist laser users in developing laser safety programs.

BIOSIS is now in SearchPlus, the Research Library's cross-database search interface. BIOSIS is the world's leading life sciences database, covering biological and biomedical sciences, botany, biochemistry, biophysics, biotechnology, medicine, public health, radiation biology, ecology and the environment from 1969 to present. BIOSIS indexes 5,000 journals, 1500 meetings, books, reviews, and U.S. patents. It offers extensive indexing with controlled vocabulary, MESH terminology, and CAS registry numbers.
SearchPlus is a key resource for accessing and using scholarly literature. Its combined databases offer LANL users access to 50 million records, with tools for setting personal preferences, outputting search results, and keeping up-to-date with alerts.
Safety and security resources page added
A new web page of safety and security resources has been created by the Research Library to support resumption of activities at the Lab. The page pulls together all the pertinent safety and security resources in one place. In addition to a centralized source for LANL information (LIRs, Compass resources, training, ISO standards, etc.), it includes links to news and to books, articles and journals that could be resources for your groups.
Aerospace database added to FlashPoint
The Aerospace database is now searched along with 13 other databases in FlashPoint, the multi-database search tool from the Research Library.
Aerospace and High Technology Database covers basic and applied research in aeronautics, astronautics, and space sciences, also complementary and supporting fields such as chemistry, Eocene, physics, communications, and electronics. It is useful for researching materials properties in extreme environments. The database covers journals, NASA reports, AIAA papers, and other reports, from 1962 to the present.
